3U Fan panels are generally used on the rear set of vertical mounting rails adjacent to a hot spot in the rear of the enclosure, or in the upper rear section of the rack to help exhaust the hot air.

The fan panels can also be mounted on the vents of a rear door to assist with the hot air removal.
